written with wacky wi-fi

this post comes courtesy of my neighbor's wi-fi. which one, i don't know; i've checked the mailboxes and haven't found anybody with the last name "linksys" or "netgear". sorry. why would someone hook up a WAP and not secure it? oh well, i'll just think of it as a neighborhood service until i finally install my own (it will be secured). the county just north of me was looking at installing and offering wi-fi, but after developing the whole plan, they learned that they don't own the utility poles they were going to use. whoops.
